The benefits of metal roofing are numerous; that metal roofing can contribute to fire protection may be news to you.  Durability, energy efficiency, beauty, low weight, and wind resistance are some of the key reasons why homeowners are increasingly choosing metal roofs. However, fire protection is another reason. The dry, hot summer that has held much of the United States captive this year has been a contributing factor in many devastating fires which have swept across the country side.

ABC News recently ran a couple of stories on homes in Washington state which have been spared damage by fires that destroyed neighboring homes. One thing that set these homes apart from others was their metal roofs.
